MI Emirates on Friday (October 20) announced the draft signing of two new local players - Asif Khan and Mohammad Rohid Khan. And as we welcome them into the MI #OneFamily while building up to the start of the season, read into who they are, and what they bring to the table -<ul><li>Asif Khan: Role: Right-handed middle-order batter.&nbsp;</li></ul>A veteran in the cricketing circuit, Asif Khan started off as an under-19 Pakistan player, went on to play for Lahore, before making the shift to the UAE. Having made his international debut in 2022, he's a crucial member in the middle-order, with the ability to strike them big right from the get-go. He joins the elite group of batters at MI Emirates on the back of a stellar season in the ILT20 development tournament, where he finished as the leading run-getter.&nbsp;<ul><li>Mohammad Rohid Khan: Role: Left-handed seam bowling all-rounder</li></ul>Young, promising, exciting. With a quick nippy action and the ability to generate good swing, Mohammad Rohid Khan has lit up the scene for Sharjah with the ball in the domestic T20 circuit. With a truckload of experience in the MI Emirates setup, he's going to enjoy a steep learning curve!&nbsp;

Mumbai Indians announce that Shane Bond’s successful tenure that began in 2015 has ended after a nine year stint with the team, bringing down the curtain on an illustrious career that included 4 IPL trophies as bowling coach for Mumbai Indians, and Head Coach of MI Emirates in the inaugural season in ILT20.One of the greatest ever bowlers of his generation, Shane’s approach to bowling was that of an artist, able to master the conditions and deliver for the team, as a player, leader and then as a coach.Shane Bond said, “I would like to thank the Ambani family for the opportunity to be part of MI One Family for the last nine seasons. It has been an incredible experience with so many great memories on and off the field. I have been lucky enough to work with and have strong relationships with so many great people, both players and staff. I will miss them all and wish them all the best for the future. Finally thanks to the MI Paltan for their support as well."The team management, players and staff would like to thank Shane Bond for his strong work ethic and being a friend to all those who have been a part of the One Family.&nbsp;Bond took charge as the team’s bowling coach in 2015 and was involved in MI’s title triumphs in 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020 to become one of the most decorated and celebrated coaches in franchise history.During his stint as the head coach for MI Emirates in the inaugural edition of ILT20, his role was to blend the experience of the international players with the local domestic players.

Season 2 of the DP World ILT20, the UAE’s biggest T20 cricket league and the second most watched league in India, will be played between the 19 January t0 18 February 2024 window.&nbsp;The full schedule for Season 2 will be unveiled soon.&nbsp; For the second consecutive year, six teams - Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, Desert Vipers, Dubai Capitals, Gulf Giants, MI Emirates and Sharjah Warriors - will compete for the glittering DP World ILT20 trophy in a 34-match format – 30 group games and four play-offs including the final.&nbsp;Gulf Giants will defend their title. The James Vince-led Giants defeated Desert Vipers by seven wickets in the inaugural season’s final in front of a packed Dubai International Stadium.&nbsp;The full schedule will be announced shortly.&nbsp;

MI Emirates announce the signing of eight players, taking their squad size up to 20, ahead of the second edition of ILT20, that is set to begin on 13th January 2024.&nbsp;The players include Kusal Perera, Akeal Hosein, Vijayakanth Viyaskanth who join the #OneFamily for the first time, while Ambati Rayudu returns (Mumbai Indians 2010 - 2017) with Corey Anderson (Mumbai Indians 2014-2016), Waqar Salamkheil (MI Cape Town 2023), Odean Smith (MI Cape Town 2023) and Nosthush Kenjige (MI New York 2023) continuing their development journey with the #OneFamily.&nbsp;The players will join&nbsp;Kieron Pollard, Dwayne Bravo, Nicholas Pooran, Trent Boult, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Andre Fletcher, Muhammad Waseem, Zahoor Khan, Jordan Thompson, William Smeed, McKenny Clarke and Daniel Mousley in the squad for 2024.&nbsp;
